Obituary of Stanislawa "Stasia" Gloria (Augustyn) Machado
Stanislawa “Stasia” Gloria (Augustyn) Machado, 82, of Providence, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was born in Providence to the late Stanislaw Augustyn and Anna (Janas) Augustyn on December 28, 1941.
Stasia embodied strength and resilience. Throughout her life, she worked tirelessly to provide for her family, often putting their needs above her own. She retired from the State of Rhode Island as Chief Clerk for Eleanor Slater Hospital. In her earlier years, Stasia worked as a Management Information Specialist for Opportunities Industrial Center (OIC), a Clerk in special education for the Child Find Program at Pleasant View Complex, and a teacher assistant for adult education and ESL for the Providence School Department. After retirement, Stasia worked as a secretary for the Providence Public School Department in various schools, including Providence Career and Technical Academy (PCTA).
Stasia had an incredible gift she shared with everyone around her; she made family gatherings a priority and shared rich wisdom and family history with those close to her. Her unconditional love will remain a guiding light in the lives of her loved ones. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the lottery, browsing clearance sections, and taking care of her cats, which brought her immense joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Machado (partner Eusebio), son, Steven Machado (partner Ann), grandchildren Kristina Moyet (partner Kindell) and Eusebio Moyet (partner Chelsea), and great-grandchildren Elizah and Sophia Moyet. She is the sister of the late Lillian Augustyn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10am in St. Adalbert’s Church, 866 Atwells Avenue, Providence, followed by the burial at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
