Obituary of Clementina Monaco
Clementina "Tina" (Tiberi) Monaco, 90, of Providence, passed away on August 17, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Giannino Monaco for almost sixty years. Born in Introdacqua, Italy, on April 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Concezio and Antonina (Ambrosini) Tiberi.
Clementina emigrated to the United States in the 1960s, first to Bridgeport, CT, where she married Giannino Monaco. They both subsequently moved to Providence, RI. She was employed at Hudson Furs for 14 years as a seamstress and later became self-employed.
In the 1970s, they moved back to Introdacqua, Italy, and soon became store owners, where she remained a seamstress. In 1992, they both emigrated again to Providence, RI.
Clementina was very active in the choir at Holy Ghost Church in Providence. She enjoyed cooking (she made the best tiramisu), knitting, scrapbooking, and was an avid animal lover.
She was the beloved mother of Gianfranco Monaco. She was the sister of Tonino and Ezio Tiberi and the sister of the late Maria Luisa Tiberi.
Clementina's funeral will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 9am from the Mount Pleasant Funeral and Cremation Service, 168 Academy Ave., Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave., Providence. Her visitation will be held Friday, August 23, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave., Providence, RI 02909.
