Obituary of Leokadia Stepinski

Leokadia (Ekstowicz) Stepinski, 97, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the Morgan Health Center. She was the widow of Boleslaw Stepinski. Born in Poland, a daughter of the late Jozef and Anna (Konert) Ekstowicz, she has been a resident of Johnston for the last 32 years. She was employed as a press operator by Norton Safety Products for 28 years before retiring at the age of 65. Leokadia enjoyed gardening, reading, and cooking for family gatherings. Mrs. Stepinski is survived by her son, Richard Stepinski, and his wife Yolanda, her daughters, Halina Gruszka, Maryann Lozinski, and her husband Andrew, her sisters Henryka Stepinski, Genowefa Hermanowski, and Janina Michalowski, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Charles Stepinski and sister of the late Jadwiga Palasiewicz. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30am from the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, 168 Academy Ave., Providence, with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Adalbert’s Church, 866 Atwells Ave. at 10am. Visitation will be on Saturday from 8:30am to 9:30am in the funeral home. Please omit flowers and donations can be made to St. Adalbert’s Church. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
