Obituary of Devin Scott Brown

Devin Scott Brown, 48 of Providence, RI died peacefully at home on November 3, 2021. He was born on February 21, 1973, to the late Carol Brown and David Ruffin. He was the beloved grandson of the late Marianna “Yaya” Lopes and William Brown. Devin’s early years were spent in Oakland, California before returning to Providence to finish school. He graduated from Central High School in Providence, RI in 1991. After graduation, He found employment at the local Filene’s in Warwick Mall. After several years of working in retail he then joined the workforce at AT&T where he was a Customer Service Manager for over 10 years. He was a dedicated employee and was admired by his staff and colleagues. Devin was also one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Devin enjoyed Basketball, Professional Wrestling, playing Dominoes, stopping at Flea Markets, and Pawn Shops to see some finds. He also had a passion for being well dressed and it served him well as he worked in retail. A carpenter by trade, he loved making home improvements for his clients. One of his favorite past times was cooking, making up silly games, and enjoying his family and friends. Left to cherish Devin’s memories are his father David Ruffin, his sister Katrina Roy, her husband Brian; his wife Rocquicha Brown, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Devin will be sorely missed, and never forgotten. A visitation will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 11:00am to 11:30am in the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Funeral service at 11:30am.
