Obituary of Bernadette Mernin

Bernadette Mernin, 85, of Cranston, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Collins) Mernin. Bernadette worked as a teacher for the Providence school system for 22 years, Nathanial Green Middle School and Hope High School. She graduated from Rhode Island College with master’s degrees in history and bilingual/bicultural education. Bernadette was a member of the Genesis Community for 12 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s on Broadway until 2018. Bernadette was a volunteer for many organizations over the years. Habitat for Humanity, Amnesty International, the Gray Panthers, and Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, to name a few. Bernadette is survived by her niece Monica Suarez and nephew Herminio Suarez from Cranston, RI. As well as 3 nieces and 8 nephews across the USA and Japan. Bernadette was the sister of the late Mary E. Suarez, the late William Mernin, the late Thomas Mernin, and the late Robert Mernin. Her services are private.
