Obituary of Carmela C. Pari

Pari, Carmela C. (Palmieri), 94, of Washington, D.C., passed away peacefully at her home on January 10, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Cidio Pari for 59 years. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, daughter of the late Margaret (Ferraro) and Giovanni Palmieri, Carmela recently relocated to Washington, D.C., after residing in Rhode Island’s capital city for the greater part of her life. She spent a short time in Kansas City, Missouri, where she worked at Saracheck’s before returning to Rhode Island to work in sales at Leavitt-Colson for several years until her retirement. Carmela was a devout Catholic who faithfully attended and genuinely enjoyed Sunday worship regardless of her location. She found great joy in reading, history, cooking, baking, and the opera, though her fondest memories were made spending quality time with her family and close friends. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and great grand-nieces and great grand-nephews, all of whom she cared for beyond measure and cherished in her heart. She was the sister of the late John T. Palmieri and his wife, Carol. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 14th, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 239 Regent Avenue, Providence, starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
