Obituary of Antonina Rainone

Antonina “Ann” Rainone, 96, a lifelong resident of Providence, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014. She was the wife of the late Louis Rainone. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Bongiovanni) Certo.
Ann worked for many years at U.S. Rubber and later at Amicareli & Eastman until her retirement in 1972. She was a daily communicant at Saint Adalbert’s Church. She was a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis, the Saint Adalbert’s Seniors, and the Mount Pleasant Senior Center. Ann was a proud recipient of her G.E.D., which she earned later in life.
She is survived by two sons, Rev. John J. Rainone, Senior Priest Diocese of Providence, and Louis G. Rainone and his wife Pamela; one daughter, Ann Boulet; three grandchildren, Judah and Gianna Boulet, and Melanie Rainone; two great grandchildren, Camdyn and Nolan; and one sister, Natalie Choquette. She was the mother-in-law of the late J.A. Boulet, Jr, and was the sister of the late Joseph Certo, Petrina Croce, Fortunata Cascione, and Rose Terino.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 10AM from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in Saint Adalbert’s Church, Providence. Burial will follow in Saint Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 5-8PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Adalberts Church, 866 Atwells Avenue, Providence, RI 02909, Elmhurst Extended Care Activities Department, 50 Maude Street, Providence, RI 02908, or Gentiva Hospice, 2374 Post Road, Suite 206, Warwick, RI 02886.
