Obituary of Robert Medeiros

Robert Medeiros, 76, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Marianne Medeiros. Born in Fall River he was the son of the late Manuel C. and Mary R. Medeiros of Fall River. Robert was an Army Veteran where he was a member of the Headquarters Battery 3rd Batallion 211th Artillary. He then worked at Stop & Shop for 44 years, retiring as the grocery manager. Robert was a devout Catholic and a member of Mt. Carmel Church in Seekonk. He was a life member of the Bay State Beagle Club, a general manager of the Blackstone Food Bank, and he was an organ donor. Robert was the father of Susan Bliss (Donald) of Fall River, and step-father of Frances Beale (Peter) of Cumberland, Gail Buckley Crane (Leon) of New Mexico, Kathleen Sorem (Douglas) of Somerset, Thomas Geary (Debra) of Providence, and Susan Lonardo (Thomas) of Cranston; grandfather of Douglas Sorem, Eric Buckley, Andrew Lonardo and Michael Lonardo, Aaron Buckley, and Alyssa Bliss; great-grandfather of Marc and Olivia Sorem, and Brody, Micah, and Riley Buckley; brother of Michael Medeiros (Connie) of Fall River, and Sherry Silvia (Ronald). He also leaves his companion Connie Lagerstrom. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 19, at 11:30AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Ave, Providence. Burial will be private.
