James O'Connell, 78, of Providence, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Cannon) O’Connell. James worked for the former Castle Spa and Mount Pleasant News for many years before retiring. He is survived by his brother, Dennis O’Connell. He was the brother of the late Daniel, Gregory, Robert, Charles, and Kevin O’Connell. Relatives and friends are invited to a service Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10am in the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Saturday 8:30-10am prior to the service in the funeral home.
