Obituary of Leonard R Laframboise

Leonard Laframboise, 56, of West Warwick passed away on May 5th after a long illness. Born in Warwick, he grew up in Coventry and spent much of his adult life working and living in Woonsocket. He attended the Community College of Rhode Island, where he studied liberal arts. He served his country in the US Marine Corp. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, working in communications. Back in Woonsocket, he owned and operated a candle & gift shop called The Goddess and the Green Man. He used his creative talents to make the beautiful artwork that he sold in his shop. After closing the shop, he worked for many years as a manager for the Holiday Inn Express in Woonsocket until he was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. Lenny was an ordained minister who taught respect for all of nature, animals, and humans alike. An avid reader, he combed through many spiritual and mythology books. He was skilled at gardening, cooking, and baking. He could cook you a fabulous meal, guide your soul, and send you home with lovely artwork all in the same evening. He will be sorely missed. He leaves behind a mother, Barbara Hamlett of Cleveland, Texas, a brother, Daniel Laframboise of Moosup Connecticut, and a fur baby named Orion, the cat. His funeral service was held on June 21st, and it was private. Donations may be made in his honor to the Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary (a no-kill shelter) or the American Cancer Society.
