Obituary of Sophie Szarek

Szarek, Sophie, M. (Brach), 96, formerly of Providence, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce, FL, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Edward M. Szarek.
Mrs. Szarek was born in Pawtucket and was the daughter of the late Boniface and Mary (Boron) Brach. She had lived in Providence most of her life before moving to Port St. Lucie, FL.
She is survived by her daughters Joan Beaudoin and her husband Joseph and Janet MacKinnon and her husband Francis, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Stanley Brach, Matthew, Adam, and Walter Brough, Stasia Palmieri and Joseph Robalewski.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Ave., Providence with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Adalbert’s Church, Atwells Ave. at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Please visit rifuneral.com.
