Obituary of Stephen Lysik

Lysik, Stephen, M., 61, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 18, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Deborah O’Neil Lysik and devoted father of Matthew S. Lysik. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Matthew and Harriet (Hamel) Lysik. Besides his wife and son, Steve is survived by his loving sisters Paula Wiktorowicz and Marian Lysik. Steve was a graduate of University of Rhode Island and held a Masters degree from Columbia University. After his graduation, he worked as a city planner in the Fort Lauderdale area. He returned to Rhode Island 15 years ago and became Town Planner in South Kingstown. After his retirement, he enjoyed cycling, swimming, and attending concerts. Steve was an avid fan of the URI Rhody Rams basketball team and the New England Patriots. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9am from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, 168 Academy Ave., Ave., Providence with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Adalbert Church, Atwells Ave. at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 8pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
